Tenchu: Return from Darkness Announced News

Now Xbox owners can indulge in a spot of creeping around as an assassin ninja in feudal Japan, details inside...

The Tenchu games have offered some thoughtful Ninja action, with the emphasis on sneaking and stealth have found an appreciative audience. It is very satisfying to creep around then silently drop down below your prey and in one smooth movement slit their throat.

'Tenchu: Return from Darkness' will build on the PlayStation2 title, 'Wrath of Heaven', offering new levels - including six for multi-player, enhanced graphics, training mode, new cutscenes, changed enemy placement and Live! support. Online play will be co-operative, allowing for new double stealth kills and some frantic whispering via the headset.

The PlayStation2 title was an enjoyable game and this, if done well, should improve on that experience, we hope that some of the controls are refined a little, but we will have to wait and see. Live! support is most interesting as we're sure that it could offer a compelling experience, but as ever, theory is one thing, implementation is another. We look forward to trying it out when the game is released in Spring 2004.

We will as ever keep you informed with the latest on Tenchu: Return from Darkness.
