Aardman Animations' greatest export (since Morph) set to feature in a new series of episodic adventures...
Stop-motion legends Wallace & Gromit will be the stars of a brand new series of episodic adventures in the coming months, courtesy of Sam & Max producers, Telltale Games.
The duo, created by Nick Park at Aardman Animations in Bristol, will feature in 'Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures'. News of Telltales' latest series comes as Aardman continues work on a fourth short-film adventure, 'A Matter of Loaf and Death', which is expected to broadcast in the UK this Christmas. The duo starred in their own movie, Curse of the Were-Rabbit, back in 2006, together with a number of videogames published by D3Publisher of Europe.
Speaking to The Associated Press, Telltale Games' CEO Dan Connors said, "The other games captured the personality, but all you ended up doing was running through the world...It was a standard platform game. We feel like the gameplay should be more of an experience. You should be able to interact with the other characters and really feel like you're in the world of 'Wallace & Gromit.'"
The short-film series has always been produced using Aardman's clay-mation style, which is something that Connors is eager to replicate for Grand Adventures:
"We're certainly going for the clay look with this...Clay presents a challenge if you really get into the detail of it. For example, adding fingerprints in a medium where there aren't any, is one of the discussions of how far we should go with the game's detail."
More details on the series are expected on Monday.
