Telltale Games today posted the first details on the return of Sam & Max. The agreement between Telltale and the duo’s creator Steve Purcell is described as wide ranging and one to take Sam & Max into the 21st century.

The 2006 release will follow a similar model to Telltale’s recently released adaptation of Bone, arriving in a series of episodic content – although the update does hint towards seeing them both in “other places”.

When posed the question as to whether the game will be based upon the cancelled Sam & Max Freelance Police, Telltale Games seem to deny any knowledge of the title – make of that what you will.

Telltale Games are keeping quiet on the title until early 2006 when they promise the next batch of information; in the meantime fans can check out Purcell’s serialised Sam & Max adventure at snm.telltalegames.com/.
