Tekken® 5 brings back the popular cast of characters from the previous games along with three new characters for a total of 20 default characters to start, with even more to unlock as you progress in the game. The game allows players to use fight money to customize their character with various accessories such as hats, glasses and an assortment of different costumes. New to Tekken® 5 is a bonus action adventure game that unfolds a side story to the action-packed fighting sequences.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe confirms that the latest Tekken will be a Playstation2 exclusive across PAL territories...

Previously we brought you confirmation that Tekken 5 would be heading to all of the home consoles, however whether or not that is true was today brought into doubt, as Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) confirmed an exclusive release on the Playstation2 across PAL territories in Summer 2005.

With sales passing the 20 million mark, the Tekken franchise has become one of the most popular fighting series of all time and has become a synonymous title for the Playstation family. âTekken® 5 will propel gamers of all ages to the next level in the fighting genre,â said Hideo Yanagihara, Director of Namco Ltd. âWith the completely new fighting engine, customizable characters and interactive environments, no fighting game fan will want to be without it.â

As weâve revealed in our previous coverage of the arcade title, Tekken 5 brings back a variety of characters along with three new characters for a total of 20, with the promise of more that will be unlocked as you progress through the game. The game allows playerâs to customise their fighters with a wide variety of options, such as hats, glasses and an assortment of different costumes.

Whether or not todayâs announcement has any impact on other regions remains unknown; however weâll have more information on Tekken 5 soon.

I have collected every tekken game so far.. except for tken 6... stupid ps3.. anyway, the graphics were the best i've seen on a game in a long time... love this game!!!!!!
