Exclusive Bioshock PS3 Mode Less Than Rapturous News
More on this gameTwo months after they ousted Paul Eibeler, Take Two Interactive's new board of directors led by Strauss Zelnick, have confirmed that all titles scheduled for release by the end of their 2007 fiscal year (ending October 31st 2007) are on track - including Rockstar Games' GTA IV. The news clarifies rumours last week that suggested the new board were planning to push the title in order to improve the publisher's financial results in the following fiscal year. It was confirmed however that several unnamed projects set for release beyond the end of October had been written off.
Reassuring investors that their focus was on Take Two's raft of publishing labels such as 2K Games/Sports, Rockstar Games, and Global Star, the new team did however reveal that they were seeking alternatives to their distribution arm, Jack of All Games, and third-party peripheral producer, JOYTECH. CEO Ben Feder confirmed that if no alternatives emerged, Take Two would continue to support both outfits.
The publisher also announced that over $25 million (£12.7 million) had been spent re-structuring aspects of the company, leading to an entire level of management being cut. Today's news comes as Take-Two revealed its financial results for the second quarter of the 2007 fiscal year, which ended on April 30th 2007. Net revenue for the quarter stood at $205.4 million (£104.3 million), down from $265.1 million (£134.6 million). The publisher's net loss remained fairly stagnant, increasing from $50.4 million (£25.6 million) in the same three-month period in 2006 to $51.2 million (£26.0 million).
Strauss Zelnick, Chairman, commented, "When our management team took on a leadership role at Take-Two, we committed ourselves to making this the most creative, the most innovative and the most efficient company in our industry. We also pledged to our shareholders and employees that we would present a detailed action plan within our first 100 days. With over one month remaining, we have already made significant progress in assessing the organization and launching a major restructuring initiative. We look forward to communicating the full results of our 100 day plan in early July."
Ben Feder, Chief Executive Officer, added, "We are very encouraged by the professionalism of the entire organization, the determination of our creative people to deliver great games, the commitment of our senior management team, and the strong potential of our core business. While we have much work ahead of us, our team is confident that Take-Two can achieve the objectives we envisioned when we began this process."
Mr. Feder continued, "While the decisions we are announcing today were difficult and will unfortunately require employee layoffs, we believe these necessary actions will improve the financial and operational performance of Take-Two, leading to greater value for our shareholders."
The board revealed that another announcement would be made on July 9th at the end of their first 100 days in control of the precarious publisher. Zelnick's plan to turn Take Two Interactive into "the most creative, the most innovative, and the most efficient company" in videogaming is also on track, with the president confirming that he was more confident than ever that they could achieve the goal...hopefully further details will be revealed at Take Two's July statement.

actually im going to laugh at IP Address: ***.***.124.217 as only a few days ago i was talking about this now its on this very site. read on little stupid boy..... Could Intel's GPGPU be appearing in the Xbox 720 or PlayStation 4... Larrabee, Intel's foray into the world of discrete graphics processors, could be shaping future next-gen consoles, according to comments from the chip manufacturer in an interview with Develop. Offering developers a fully programmable pipeline and based around the popular x86 instruction set, the Larrabee specifications are considered to be closer to that of a multi-core CPU than traditional GPU technology. Such a design allows the technology to fluidly handle tasks not typically assigned to the GPU, helping out the CPU as and when needed, and unlocking the true potential of parallel computing offered by multi-core architecture. Intel's Aaron Coday revealed, "It's definitely something we would want to discuss with the console vendors, and hope that the architecture that we're providing is something that is very compelling for them and be interesting." A paper released at SIGGRAPH 2008 indicated that 25 Larrabee cores running at 1GHz could potentially run Gears of War at 60fps at a resolution of 1600x1200 - this is believed to be a conservative estimation as the cores are widely expected to run faster than 1GHz. Samples of Larrabee are expected to be unveiled towards the end of the year, with the first video card based around the technology expected in late 2009 or 2010

actually im gonna change my attitude towards this pathetic argument. its not about how powerfull a games machine is its about how good the developers make the games (just look at mario galaxy and tell me that game is cra* on an underpowered console or that the developers got there heads round the consoles limitations and made an awsomly playable game)

ok little school kid first learn to read and spell where in any comment made on this game did i say boycott the ps3 WHERE go on tell me, tell you what why dont you copy and paste it OH YOU CANT CAUSE I DIDDNT SAY IT. just one last thing about you not being able to read ill put it in block capitals INTELL ARE WORKING ON A 16 CORE CPU (central processing unit) though most people know on a pc the graphics card now does all the work letting the cpu get on with other processes other than that you cant over clo tvg rules! r ps3 and a fairly powerfull grapics card doesnt cost that much ie an ati x4870 or an nvidia 8800 gts both costing less than £200 a decent cpu will cost around £100 a blu-ray drive will cost £80 the rest can be bought for around £200 (memory, hdd, oporating system) maybe when you finish from school you can look at eclipse-computers dot com and suddenly it all comes clear. just one thing gets me if compressed games loose so much quality then how can crysis be such a cool game or farcry 2 and yet they both have some quality youll never get on the ps3 (knowing the best control system for any FPS is keyboard and mouse, i know youll loose against any pc gamer if you try a frag match using a game pad). there is a lot for you to learn so stick to finishing you gcse or what ever its called these days and leave the experianced gamers to do there job. right ive said what ive said now ive got to get some sleep as ive got another 12 hour night shift to do, nice try little boy.

lol your really pathatic n reaching now,ok tell me where i can buy this 16 core graphics card, you cant cause its not even out yet so stop looking at products that arnt even out yet to try n say its better then the ps3 cause i can do that aswell n say the ps3 will be even better then intell new graphics card or the next xbox,i aint a fan i just go for the best tech which is the ps3 at the mo not a pc,i aint seen a blu ray pc for under £500 quid if its true must be low spec in other areas, the ps3 graphics was not based on n6800 ultra cards, its stated pretty clear its a complete new graphics card called the rsx not to mention two 6800 ultra cards is still powerful compred to what basic pc`s offer plus it doesnt matter what graphics card you got if u have not got the a powerfull cpu to push the it to the limit,to say u bulid pc`s u dont very much do you and u make ur self look very stypid not doing your research,oh n just one more thing abou the fan boy bit,it was you who said boycott bioshock on the ps3 so dont try getting away from the fact that ur the fan boy of a sh* console, where i like most people im a fan of the best tech, cell most powerfull cpu, internet service is free compared to the 360,uses blu ray which most pc`s do not so there no need to compress a game n lose quality, uses 7 cores which a pc does not,the only thing that comes close to the ps3 r extreame pc`s for that cost thousands n most people arnt made of money,so its clear u dont have to be a fan boy to know that the ps3 is the best.next time dont try using future products that arnt even out yet to try n put the ps3 down which is out now and will not cost u thousands, games developers have all come out this last month n said the pc is becoming less n less important n there making less money on the pc now consoles have caught up .the future for the pc will be for business only.
