Proving that the pool of ports will never run dry, Take 2 confirm Wing Commander Prophecy for the GBA.
Take 2 today confirmed that they have picked up the publishing rights to Wing Commander Prophecy for the GameBoy Advance; currently in development at the Italian based Raylight Studios.
GBA owners may remember Raylight Studios as being the talented team behind the BlueRoses 3D engine ā“ one of the first demonstrated for the GBA. The title takes full use of the powerful engine with a full polygon based 3D engine.
For those that donāt know, the Wing Commander series has gained almost legendary status in the videogames world; released aeons ago for the PC the game saw a string of sequels, which in turn saw actors such as Mark Hamill and Malcolm McDowell grace the green screen to provide the atrocious FMV scenes that drove the game.
Itās essentially an ordinary space-shooter thatās portrayed in the same style as a soap opera, players action define the route through the game and how other characters act around you.
The GBA title is a conversion of the fifth title in the series; the game is set to contain all the elements of the PC title minus the hammy FMV scenes. In total players will be able to fight their way through 48 different missions, as their actions decide the outcome of the story. In addition players will be able to hook up their GBA and indulge in a variety of four-player multiplayer modes.
