Expectations raised as Take Two Interactive looks towards the rest of the fiscal year...
Take Two Interactive has today raised its financial expectations for the rest of the 2008 fiscal year, which ends on October 31st 2008, just weeks after turning down an acquisition offer from Electronic Arts.
Revenues for the second quarter have been increased by over $50 million (£24.8 million) to $500 million (£247.7 million), with total revenues for the fiscal year topping $1.40 billion (£693.5 million) from $1.25 billion (£619.2 million).
For the first quarter of the 2008 fiscal year, which ran from November 2007 to January 2008, revenues dropped on the year from $277.3 million (£137.4 million) to $240.4 million (£119.1 million). Take Two's net losses also increased from $21.5 million (£10.7 million) to $38.0 million (£18.8 million), though both sets of figures exceeded the optimistic expectations previously posted by the publisher.
A list of titles expected to hit PC and consoles by the end of the fiscal year also confirmed the likes of Don Kings: Prizefighter, Top Spin 3, Civilization Revolution, Midnight Club: Los Angeles, and of course, Grand Thaft Auto IV. Looking ahead into the 2009 fiscal year, Take Two is expected to launch Gearbox Software's Borderlands, Mafia II from 2K Czech, Bioshock 2 by 2K Marin - and the return of a major Rockstar brand. Could this be the long-rumoured return of Red Dead Revolver???
