Bethesda and Take-Two set to co-publish the next instalment of the Elder Scrolls saga ob the new 2K Games label…
Take-Two have today announced that they have signed a deal with the developer of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Bethesda under their newly launched 2K Games label. The game is set for release on PC and next-generation console, although there no confirmed time period for the gameâs arrival.
The Elder Scrolls series is one of the most successful RPG franchises, with the previous instalment, Morrowind, receiving an unprecedented level of praise and anticipation for Oblivion is already becoming fever pitch.
Announcing the deal, Christoph Hartmann, Senior Vice President of Publishing for 2K Games commented, âWe are thrilled to be working as co-publisher with Bethesda Softworks to help maximize sales of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivionâ¦Being selected by Bethesda to work on a title that is as highly anticipated by both PC and console gamers worldwide as Oblivion is a testament to 2K Games' capabilities in successfully managing AAA titles."
Vlatko Andonov, President of Bethesda Softworks said, "As a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive, 2K Games has the benefit of a worldwide, industry-leading sales and distribution network, and Take-Two's proven track record of releasing great games," said. "Through this partnership, Oblivion will reach the largest audience possible."
We are certainly looking forward to playing this game, especially in light of the spectacular screenshots that have already been released â“ when Oblivion is finally released prepare to lose another six months of your life to Elder Scrolls.
