Codemasters introduce Terminal Damage System, set to feature in the forthcoming TOCA Race Driver 2…
Codemasters has recently lifted the lid on the new damage system set to feature in the forthcoming âTOCA Race Driver 2: The Ultimate Racing Simulatorâ for the PC and Xbox.
As TOCA fans will know the Codies have always been on top of the game with regards to damage systems featured within their games, and the latest, dubbed the âTerminal Damage Engineâ, shows no signs of disappointing.
The UK developer and publisher is claiming it to be the most advanced physics ever seen in a racing game; windows smash, doors can be ripped open, and a head-on collision can end your race â“ no miraculous restarts.
Gamers will receive strong audio clues as to the performance of their vehicle, alongside the obvious visual hints; as the press release so elegantly puts it, âWhen your car hurts, youâll know all about itâ.
But you won't be punished too much. "Race Over" means just that, but only for that race. The save system in TOCA Race Driver 2 saves after every event, so you'll only have to re-run that one race you really screwed up in order to progress.
Weâll have a closer look at âTOCA Race Driver 2: The Ultimate Racing Simulatorâ soon.
