Bruce Campbell reprises his role Ash (yet again) for this spiritual successor to Evil Dead 2...
THQ has today announced that Summer 2005 will see the release of Evil Dead: Regeneration for the Xbox, PlayStation2, and PC. The game is set after the events of Evil Dead 2, with Ash (voiced by Bruce Campbell) arrested for the murders of his companions in the woods and sent to an institution for the criminally insane ā“ events take a turn for the worse though when his own psychiatrist (who sounds as if heās spent too much time in the company of his patients) unleashes the power of the Necronemicon Exmortis (the Book of the Dead), leaving Ash to mop up the Deadite mess.
Making the announcement, David Bollesen, General Manager, Cranky Pants Games (developers of the game) said "It's our goal to create the spiritual successor of Evil Dead 2, one of the seminal action films ever, in pop-cultureā¦Having Bruce Campbell on board, providing creative direction and embracing new ideas we've injected into their universe is critical, and their enthusiasm continues to drive us to deliver the ultimate Evil Dead experience."
Hopefully this new title will be a bit better than the previous Evil Dead games, especially the chronically turgid Fistful of Boomstick, weāll have more shortly...
