The next videogame tie-in to a Disney Pixar movie is confirmed for eleven platforms by THQ...
THQ has today confirmed that it's taking the transition period by the horns, and announced the development of Disney/Pixar's Ratatouille for a massive eleven formats.
The game, which will launch in 2007 to coincide with the release of the animated feature, is to appear on all three next-gen consoles, PlayStation2, GameCube, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, PC, Mac, and mobile devices...surely a record number of formats.
"Disney*Pixar films have consistently captivated audiences of all ages with their imaginative and memorable characters, visually stunning animation, and unparalleled story-telling," said Kelly Flock, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Publishing, THQ. "THQ has shipped more than 25 million units of Disney*Pixar video games to date, illustrating the success of our long-standing relationship and dedication to the Disney*Pixar business."
The publisher's Heavy Iron Studios (The Incredible: Rise of the Underminer/The Incredibles) is heading up the mammoth project, which will be developed across a number of THQ's internal developers.
THQ had a successful summer in 2006 when its adaptation of Disney/Pixar's Cars stayed at the number one spot in the All Format (Full Price) chart for six weeks before being displaced by another THQ title, Saints Row.
