THQ confirm that development has begun on next-generation titles during a conference call...
Brian Farrell, President THQ, has confirmed via a financial conference call that both Rainbow Studios and Violation are working on titles for the Playstation3 and Xbox2, however made no mention regarding GameCube2 titles.
"We still believe that the next generation will launch in 2006," claimed Farrell yesterday. "That's our best guess as of today's date. But we're certainly preparing in the event that there is a 2005 launch."
This certainly seems to suggest that specific details about both platforms are still vague and reveals precious little information that we didn't already know, however if publishers are already beginning to greenlight projects for the formats then we should expect the first concrete details to trickle in shortly.
Farrell also claimed that development on PSP titles would begin within the next 1-2 months, and claimed as has previously been suggested that some developers have had kits since September.
