TGS'07: No Home Coming Till 2008 News

The PS3's virtual world is pushed back to Spring 2008 as a result of 'user feedback'...


Speaking at the SCE conference at the start of Tokyo Game Show, boss Kaz Hirai has confirmed that the launch of Home, the interactive social networking world currently being built for PlayStation 3, has been pushed back until Spring 2008.

Originally planned for launch before the end of the year, Hirai revealed that the delay was as a result of user feedback, and a desire to extend Home's services: "We want to be sure we have a range of services for our users all over the world - that's how we want to start the service. So we decided to delay the service launch date."

The head of SCE did however confirm that the online functionality of PlayStation Network will be expanding, including an announcement that PC users will be able to access PlayStation Store from their desktops - allowing PSP owners to download content via their PC. PSN currently features over 2.7 million user accounts, though Hirai asserted that the service has to develop over time.

Why do people say its ffVII sequel!!! If you read the initial story it says it has nothing to do with ffV11 and its not an RPG!! Chances are there is no big announcement and it was a big joke!!

i think it will be exclusive and iv heard about a new metal gear called Metal Gear 3: Revolver Ocelot and this was in the rumour section of the official uk ps3 magazine it also said if its true expect it also to be announce in the next month ... [ Read full comment... ]

It's Final Fantasy VII sequel. That date is the same time as scheduled Square Enix DKS3713 August 2nd/3rd.
