An off-road sequel is underway as Evolution Studios and its subsidiary join SCE Worldwide Studios...


Following its success as part of the PlayStation 3 launch, Sony Computer Entertainment has today confirmed the development of MotorStorm 2, due for release in 2008.

News of the sequel's production comes at the same time that development house Evolution Studio and its subsidiary Bigbig Studio joins SCE Worldwide Studios.

"Our strategy is to create the best games by working with the best talent and Evolution and Bigbig are world-class additions to our team," said Phil Harrison, President of SCE Worldwide Studios. "The incredible people in these studios further extend the depth and skill of the industry's largest platform-exclusive development resource".

Evolution Studios' MD Mick Hocking will now have added responsibilities becoming a Group Studio Director SCE, charged with overlooking Evolution Studios, Bigbig Studios, and WipEout developers, Liverpool Studio.

I was lucky enough to be invited to download the recent demo but if feels more like MotorStorm V1.5 than a true sequel but am hoping it evolves in its last few weeks of development.

uh more weater effects and environments, motorstorm on a snowy set of tracks instead of deserty ones....rain..sleet etc...more mud, better collision detection, biggeronline and in-game races, more than 12 people.

Thats Great but make it to were you can customize your vehicle with parts and paint rims tires make it more like that its cool but dont like the standerd cars and no way to make it YOURS!!! just what i as a true dirt track racer would like to see in ... [ Read full comment... ]

Yes the first one was awsome hopefully this one is just as good if not better then the first one. Please have more cares and also 2 player please then it will be one of the best racing games out there.

Motorstorm 2?! err... It's a great game but how can they make a sequel? There isn't much they can change. Some games just don't need a sequel...
