Polyphony Digital confirms the development of Tourist Trophy; the Gran Turismo of the motorcycle world...

Tokyo Game Show revealed a surprise from Polyphony Digital, creators of the Gran Turismo series, with the announcement of Tourist Trophy, a game that intends to become the GT of motorcycles.

Subtitled The Real Riding Simulator in obvious homage to the GT series, Tourist Trophy presents a wide range of licensed motorcycles from manufacturers such as Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda, with European companies set for inclusion.

Tourist Trophy places emphasis on tuning options and goes to great lengths to replicate real world parts. Kazunori Yamauchi and his team want to ensure the actual action of riding a bike is as close to real as can be, with significant use of the PS2 pressure sensitive face buttons and the emphasis on finding the correct position of the rider to improve aerodynamics.

Whether or not Tourist Trophy will feature damage models or even online play is currently unknown, however a Photo mode akin to GT4 has been confirmed; weâll have a closer look at Tourist Trophy soon.
