The developer of Cold Winter opens a new studio in Manchester, UK; new team to work on an untitled game for Sierra Entertainment...
Birmingham UK-based developer Swordfish Studios has today confirmed the opening of new offices in Manchester, where they're currently developing an as yet untitled game for Sierra Entertainment.
The studio produced the FPS Cold Winter for Sierra before being acquired by its parent company, Vivendi Games in Summer 2005. So could the untitled next-generation game be a sequel to that or an original IP?
The answer to that question is currently unknown, but speaking about the opening of Manchester office, Trevor Williams, Managing Director of Swordfish Studios, said, "These are exciting times for us all at Swordfish. Sierra Entertainment's dedication to produce games to the highest possible standard is providing some really exciting opportunities for the Swordfish team. Not only that, but Manchester is already proving to be a fantastic location from which to tempt some of the best gaming talent in the North of England."
We'll have more news shortly...
[UPDATE] Representatives from Sierra Entertainment have since confirmed to TVG that Swordfish Studio' title is not related to Cold Winter.
