Sea warfare strategy title from Konami set for release in the next fiscal year...
Konami of Europe continues to release an army of announcements as a result of its annual Gamer's Day held in San Francisco. The company has confirmed the development of strategy title Steel Horizons for Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.
The game, which will feature both real-time and turn-based gameplay, is set in the midst of World War II with a number of fictitious operations detailing how a third party in the Pacific orchestrated the war. With the player cast as an American Captain controlling one of only a small number of secret vessels, it's up to them to uncover and reveal this 'organisation' in order to ultimately save the world.
Steel Horizons will also feature Wi-Fi multiplayer options with the number of players platform specific though exact details weren't announced by Konami.
"Strategy games are a perfect fit for portable gaming on the PSP system and Nintendo DS," said Hans-Joachim Amann, Head of European Product Management of Konami of Europe. "With Steel Horizons' intuitive interface, intense 3D graphics, dynamic camera angles, impressive special effects and a mix of real-time and turn-based strategy elements, gamers will enjoy 20 compelling missions and countless hours of strategic action on the high seas."
