Thousands of hardened SW fans show their displeasure at the recent Combat Upgrade...
It seems that a recent upgrade to Star Wars Galaxies may have brought on one of the most feared known attack in the universe upon LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment... the wrath of Star Wars fans who evidently spend far too much time on the MMORPG.
Citing the likes of one self-confessed addict who spent more than $4000 on the title during the last couple of years and has now cancelled his presumably many accounts, a SWG Petition has been set-up to register the anger felt by over 12,000 Star Wars geeks â“ even if the vast majority have signed their names as âDarthRulezâ and âObi-Wan Foreverâ!
The so-called âCombat Upgradeâ intended to make the experience more enjoyable, make it feel more like Star Wars and make combat easier to play and rewarding for professionals. However a quick look at the Links page reveals a number of gamers visibly angered by the update, such as the affectionately titled www.starwarsgalaxiessucks.com or the siege of Amazon.com.
The situation hasnât been helped by the alleged suspension of accounts following criticism on the official forums or feedback, while the group alleges that the contradictions presented by the update should be a matter of personal choice and not forced upon everybody.
