Nintendo have today confirmed that the return of Fox McCloud and Lylat Command will take place on European shores on April 29th 2005. Set several years after the events of Dinosaur Planet this latest title follows the events after Lylat Command receives news of a threat to the galaxy, sending McCloud and the team out to investigate.

The game is set in a variety of different environments and worlds from ice planets to magma planets (and everything in between) as well as allowing the player to take part in huge battles all from the ‘comfort’ of the Arwing fighters. Gameplay isn’t restricted to the air as Fox can also explore on foot and in the Landmaster tank.

Besides the single-player Story Mode, Star Fox Assault will also feature a Multiplayer mode that will allow up to four players can go head to head in a series of environments against the clock.
