Square-Enix UK Confirm No Go For 360 Final Fantasy News

Square-Enix UK clarifies Shinji Hashimoto's recent comments surrounding Final Fantasy on Xbox 360...
Amongst the waves of franchises rapidly moving across to the Xbox 360 as publishers change allegiances at an alarming pace, Square-Enix's Final Fantasy and Konami's Metal Gear Solid remain the two elusive brands sitting on top of Robbie Bach's and Peter Moore's "Most Wanted" list.
Commenting to the Nikkei Business Publication, Square-Enix' Shinji Hashimoto recently denied increasing speculation that Final Fantasy would soon make the crossover. TVG contacted Square-Enix for clarification on the subject and to ensure there were not any mistakes in the translation, with a UK representative confirming that Hashimoto-san indeed stated that there are currently no plans for the revered RPG franchise to make an appearance on the Xbox 360.
Xbox fans can take some solace in the fact that Square-Enix stressed the comment was about the "current situation" to TVG, so whilst we wouldn't expect Final Fantasy XIII or a Crystal Chronicles styled spin-off to appear on Microsoft's box, there could be some movement if Sony's market-share with the PlayStation3 continues to flounder behind the competition.
