Sony To Launch PSP With Harddrive In 2006??? News

Investment firm predicts that Sony may be springing a massive surprise in the summer of next year...

Unlikely though it might seem, Sony will launch a new version of the PSP during the summer of 2006â¦at least thatâs the prediction of investment firm Piper Jaffray. The company, which provides a wide range of services including research analysis, makes the crystal ball prediction in its forecasts through to 2008 and states that:

"Microsoft is expected to launch its X-Box 306 platform in the U.S. on November 22, 2005. We project that Sony and Nintendo will launch their next-gen systems in late-2006 (in U.S.). We also expect Sony to launch the next generation of its PSP (including an audio/video hard-drive) in mid-2006."

The idea that Sony would make such a move so soon into the PSPâs life-cycle is quite astonishing, and weâd certainly take the comments with a pinch of salt so large that a lake full of water would be needed to quench your thirstâ¦but then again, you never know.

Weâll have more news on PSP and its second wave of titles shortlyâ¦

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be

JAZZ-1991, what the hell are you talking about? The PSP redesign is 19% slimmer and 33% lighter than the original PSP. The buttons are more responsive, it supports tv out, has twice the RAM. There is no need to make it any smaller, it feels great in ... [ Read full comment... ]
