Sony Signs Teleconferencing Tech Deal News

A non-exclusive worldwide agreement enables teleconferencing for 'PlayStation products'...


With the countdown towards the November launch of PlayStation3 continuing, the final pieces of the development puzzle are being put into place. Today, Avistar Communications has announced that its subsidiary, Collaboration Properties Inc., has signed a deal with Sony Corporation to license its technologies for the use of teleconferencing.

The global non-exclusive deal allows Sony to use CPI's technology in a number of potential products throughout its divisions, with 'PlayStation products' citied specifically in the statement.

Announcing the deal, Gerald J. Burnett, Chairman and CEO of Avistar said, "Due to their market leadership, CPI is extremely pleased to add Sony as its latest licensee...Additionally, we hope that this licensing agreement will open up possibilities for market collaboration between the two companies in the future."

not true. mine jumped 50 to 100 and i have had no problems since the update. i just hope that theres patches coming out for trophies soon...

very cool as in dead and yes sony admitted the new firmware can potentially kill a ps3 if the download leaps from 50% to 100% instead of ie 51%52%53% ect
