Sony PSP Misses March For Europe News

Sony confirms reports that the PSP won’t be released across Europe in March...

Having confirmed a release date and price for the North American debut of the Sony PSP, reports today suggest that the European roll-out wonât follow in March as originally planned.

Citing supply shortages as the main reason, a spokesperson at Sony Computer Entertainment today refused to clarify the situation, only mentioning a âSpringâ timeline for the introduction of the new handheld within Europe.

Demand for the PSP has been rapidly increasing in Japan whilst interest in the Nintendo DS appears to be slightly waning, and with 1 million units planned for the U.S launch, a figure that Sony expects to be snapped up almost immediately, the production plants and continued manufacturing issues has put huge pressure on the ability to launch the PSP within Europe during the same time.

The announcement marks the second delay for the PSP, which was originally planned for a worldwide release during Christmas 2004; certainly those eager to get their hands on the system will be hoping the Spring date doesnât get pushed back any further.

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
