Sony Game Losses Larger Than Expected News

The PS3 price reduction means Sony's losses are set to double for the second fiscal half year...
Reporting from last week's first half fiscal 07 results, Reuters has today reported that full year losses for Sony's Game division are expected to double what was previously forecasted.
Previously Sony had expected the Game division to post a loss of 50 billion yen (£213.25 million); however, this has since been estimated to exceed 100 billion yen (£426.50 million), as the division aims to reach break-even during some point in the October-March fiscal second half.
For the half-year period ending September 30th the Game division posted a loss of 126 billion yen (£537.39 million), which has been largely attributed to the strategic cost-cutting measures severely reducing the PS3 under the manufacturing cost.
