Sony Confirm Playstation3 for E3’05 News

Ken Kutaragi confirms that the Playstation3 will make a playable appearance at E3'05…
At a recent âPlaystation Meeting 2004â event held in Japan, Sony confirmed that the Playstation3 will make its presentation debut within the current financial year - suggesting that we will see the machine before March 31st 2005.
In addition Sony executives confirmed that the Playstation3 will make a playable appearance at E3â05, leaving Ken Kutaragi to quip âThere has been some talk that development is not going well, but we expect to have a playable version at E3. We are pushing ahead with that schedule in mind.â
This has led to the suggestion that Sony will release the Playstation3 before the end of 2005, although attending members refused to be drawn on specific regarding the format or its release. The clever suggestion would have to say an early 2006 release, given that this was the same strategy employed by Sony for the Playstation2, having made its debut a year earlier at E3.
Kutaragi-san moved on to talk about the Sony PSP, once again dispelling claims that the format wouldnât be released this year within Japan and making the bullish claim "We've come to the point when there is a PlayStation for almost every television. It's our dream for there to be a PSP for every person,"
A PSP title dubbed âTalkmanâ was shown at the event and allowed users to speak into a microphone in one language, which the title then translates into another.
Certainly E3â05 is shaping up to be a monumental event in the gaming calendar, with Nintendo previously promising that it will unveil the Nintendo Revolution at the event, leaving Microsoft to confirm that Xbox2 will also make an appearance.
