Sony Announces Official Formula 1 Titles News

F1 comes to PlayStation2 and PSP this year and will include a raft of modes and the first look at the Turkish Grand Prix...
Sony has today announced that the only official videogame adaptations of Formula 1 will be heading the way of PlayStation2 and PSP later on this year and will include the new Turkish Grand Prix, enabling gamers to race around the track before the actual GP in August.
The one exciting feature in this long-standing franchise has to be the addition of online play on the PS2 title; gamers will be able to take part in leaderboards as well as adding friends to buddy lists and participate in ongoing head-to-head races. The PlayStation2 version will also include a new Career mode, interactive pit-stops, and a comprehensive glossary of F1 terms and tracks advice.
The PS2 version will also include a few new learner aids including Audio Information Tips, and Pit Crew Reminders that will give you advice on some of the corners on the tracks as well as offering advice correcting driving errors. As a bonus, gamers will also be able to unlock classic cars and tracks throughout the gameâ¦we can only hope that the six wheel Tyrell has made it into the title.
Meanwhile the PSP version seems to be focused on giving a more immediate F1 fix with seven challenge modes with up to 8-players battling it out over Wi-Fi, including an Elimination Mode and a Championship Mode. Formula 1 2005 PSP will also feature three lap mini races so commuting rides can seem that little bit faster!
Weâll have more news on the two titles very soon...
