Playstation2 and PSP gamers can hook up against each other in the latest F1 title...


If last week's race is anything to go by then it's fair to say Formula One is back stronger then before, so it's unsurprising to find Sony announcing the only official titles to be tied to the 2006 season for the Playstation2 and PSP.

Featuring all new features and all the official 2006 drivers, cars, teams, tracks and rules, Formula One 06 most notable introduction is the ability to play network games between the Playstation2 and PSP - a first of its kind and likely to pave the way for future titles.

Both versions are currently in development at SCEE's Liverpool Studio, which has been hard at work improving a number of other areas in the game. Hoping to increase its sense of accessibility, Formula One 06 introduces a number of optional driving aids to assist newcomers or create the ultimate simulation for F1 veterans.

Online play now offers a complete 18 track season, allowing players to indulge in a full championship and gaianing the satisfaction from competing against real-life competitors. PSP owners will also benefit from the game's inclusion of Infrastructure support, allowing gamers to play across the world.

Advancements to the AI system results in an even more believable experience, with opponents making mistakes, race incidents and an all-new physics system. SCEE also promises a revamped car tuning system, which removes the need to plough through complicated menus.

Formula One is scheduled for release on the Playstation2 and PSP in June; look out for further information soon.

Stuck with PS2

I've been using is it with a Motion Sensing Controller that I bought on Ebay, and the feel is great on the turms, look on Ebay for NEW SIXAXIS? Wireless Controller for the PLAYSTATION 2
