Sony Announce PSP Giga Pack For Europe News

PSP boosted with the inclusion of a 1GB Memory Stick and other accessories ahead of Christmas...

In an obvious attempt to boost sales of the PSP ahead of the Christmas season and to stem off some of the criticismâs Sonyâs handheld has been facing, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced the release of the PSP Giga Pack across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australasia for November 2005.

Featuring a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, the Giga Pack additionally includes the PSP, battery pack, AC adaptor, USB cable and an all-new PSP stand for hands-free viewing.

Specifically released for the Christmas season and available for a limited time only the PSP Giga Pack is set to retail for £214.99/299.99 euros when it is made available in the UK and Ireland on November 21st and other territories on November 28th. Existing PSP owners will also have the chance to pick up the PSP branded 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo at the beginning of November.

The PSP has gone on to shift over 1 million units since September 1st across all PAL territories, however the handheld is courting controversy for a lack of second wave titles â“ with GTA: Liberty City Stories just around the corner however that could well change very soon.

lol an 80 gb psp is not possible unless they use ssd hard drives which cost sh*t loads to buy independantly maybe you should get used to dreaming, though if they stop making any games for it or make a psp that could only get games from the ps3 then y... [ Read full comment... ]

UMD already dead. Sony has nothing to lose by adding
SD stuff on the Blu-ray discs for PSP viewing.

good point but i think i would only pay about $250 and not bother with the touch screen.with mobile tec in there you could play games over the net any time any where but only at a reasonable price of course.

Sony should have added a 40 or 80 gig internal hard drive like the ipod to the psp instead of making it thinner and lighter! With the extra space it would be
