Sonic Team reveal their first new and original game since the days of the Saturn...
Sega fans may remember Sega of Europeâs recent blunder that resulted in their forthcoming line-up to be revealed to the world. Amongst the most interesting was a curious GameCube title known as âGiant Eggâ; whilst we suspected this was from Sonic Team, any details on the title were being kept a closely guarded secret, until nowâ¦
To give the game its full name âBilly Hatcher and the Giant Eggâ, this is the first original platform game and character to emerge from Sonic Team since the Saturnâs days.
The story follows a young boy who must save a once magical kingdom from the clutches of an evil king who threatens to rule with an everlasting night.
Intriguingly weâre told that gamers will have to learn how to use the powers of a legendary suit and control magical eggs to restore light to the kingdom, in what is described as a âvibrant lightning-fast 3D platformerâ.
Players have to roll the âmagical eggsâ through the world to solve puzzles, fight enemies and ultimately hatching magical creatures that enhance Billyâs abilities.
"'Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg' is pure SONICTEAM magic," said Mike Fischer, vice president of marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "A dizzying blend of fast action, hypnotic gameplay and one-of-a-kind characters, 'Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg' is, without a doubt, the next big thing from the legendary SONICTEAM."
