Anticipation surrounding the possible announcement of Age of Empires 3 builds…

Further to last weeks report that confirmation of Age of Empires 3 is imminent; Ensemble Studios have added an extra line to their front page which reads, â2300BC â“ Sargon I Unifies Sumeria.â

Ever the amateur historians, TVG dug around the history pages of the web to discover a little more about Sargon, who quite frankly sounds like the leader of the Klingons.

Sargon I was the ruler of ancient Mesopotamia from 2334BC to 2279BC. Also known as Sargon of Akkad, he was one of the most powerful rulers in the region at that time. Details surrounding him are sketchy at best and myth at worst; legend suggests he was found as a baby, floating down a river â“ sound familiar?

There is plenty more room for further historical dates to be added, as well as official confirmation that AoE exists so watch this spaceâ¦
