Koei confirms a first-person sword wielding master class on Wii next year...
Koei has today confirmed that Samurai Warriors: Katana will be heading to Wii in 2008, with a North American launch in January. A first-person title with players slashing through waves of enemy warriors with the Wii-remote, Katana is said to feature over thirty hours of gameplay - promising to give Wii-wielders a bit of a workout in the process too.
Once again returning players into the heat of feudal Japan, Katana will feature three different game modes including the option for two-player gameplay.
"Samurai Warriors: KATANA thrusts players right into the heat of battle," said Amos Ip, Senior Vice President of KOEI Corporation. "We're inviting everyone to experience this amazing and dynamic first-person adventure. By mastering different weapons using the motion-sensitive Wii Remote(tm), veteran and first-time players alike will discover a whole new dimension of excitement from the Samurai Warriors series of games."
No word on when Katana will arriving on European shores, but Koei has always been keen to release its rapidly iterating Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors franchises so expect a release date in the coming weeks.
