The Simpsons: Road Rage infringes on Crazy Taxi – surely not…
In an announcement to the Reuters News Agency, SEGA of America has finally announced its intention to sue EA and Fox Interactive, claiming that âThe Simpsons: Road Rageâ infringes its patents issued for âCrazy Taxiâ.
The suit named as defendants Fox Filmed Entertainment, a unit of Fox Interactive Group Inc; Fox Interactive, Foxâs former games division that is now controlled by Vivendi-Universal; Radical Entertainment, the games developers; and Electronic Arts.
SEGA holds a US patent known as the â138 patentâ on âCrazy Taxiâ, securing the rights to picking up passengers and quickly delivering them to their destination, whilst accomplishing outrageous driving stunts.
The suit asks the court to immediately stop the sale or import of âThe Simpsons: Road Rageâ, which has gone on to sell over 1 million copies, along with damages for lost profits and a recall of any copies available at retail.
