SEGA Pushes The Club Into 2008 News

SEGA keeps the doors closed on Bizarre Creations' The Club until 2008...


Following our earlier suggestions that Bizarre Creations' Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC title The Club would slip beyond the planned Winter 2007 release, it seems our crystal ball was crystal clear with official confirmation arriving from SEGA today that the game will be pushed into 2008.

Refusing to provide any reasons, The Club entered the beta stage a number of weeks ago, suggesting the delay is likely to maximise the game's sales potential and avoid the heavily congested Christmas market - as a number of high-profile titles already have done.

So SEGA's release schedule leading up to Christmas now includes:

Sonic Rush Adventure (DS) 14th September
Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (PSP) 28th September
SEGA Rally (X360/PS3/PSP/PC) 28th September
Virtua Fighter 5 (X360) 26th October
Universe at War: Earth Assault (PC) 2nd November
Sonic Rivals 2 (PSP) 2nd November
Ghost Squad (Wii) 2nd November
The Golden Compass (PS3/X360/PS2/Wii/DS/PSP) 30th November

It's a great game and it really annoys me that people didnt get it, and it hasnt sold as well as it should have.

How should SEGA and Bizarre have pitched this; do you think it's the end for The Club?

This game is awesome, what you talking about. It's a skill-test to the max, it's a game for good gamers.

There;s no way! How is this gma egetting good reviews? It sucks! The AI is awful, the weapons aren't fun to use, the controls are bad, the voice acting is even worse. The only good thing is that it's got good graphics and runs when you put it in your... [ Read full comment... ]
