SEGA Confirms Football Manager 2007 News

Just days after Sports Interactive teased of a forthcoming announcement, SEGA confirms the next instalment...

Earlier in the week Sports Interactive, developers of Football Manager, hinted that a formal announcement of Football Manager 2007 would be coming shortly, and today SEGA has confirmed just that along with some of the new features packaged with the management sim.

Along with the player updates, new features for the game include the introduction of Feeder Clubs, a refinement of the user interface, and a revamp of the Youth Teams and Scouts. The game, which is set for release for Christmas 2006, is currently being developed for Xbox 360, PC, PSP, and something called a Mac...which apparently plays games too.

Players will also be able to motivate their squad members and potentially hint at future signing through interaction with the media, with half-time/full-time team talks also experiencing an update in the forthcoming instalment.

"We are constantly striving for perfection and are on track to deliver our most authentic football experience yet", commented Miles Jacobson, Studio Director of Sports Interactive. "There will be a new, easy to use default skin, as well as improved hints and tips throughout the game. More in-depth feedback from your assistant manager and coaches, plus interaction with any player worldwide makes this an un-missable and very user friendly experience, and our best football game by a country mile."

With England's first match in the 2006 World Cup two days away, and Mr Rooney now fit for the tournament, today's announcement couldn't come at a more appropriate time.

We'll have more news shortly...
