The Creative Assembly travel back to the middle ages with Medieval 2...

SEGA Europe, SEGA of America and The Creative Assembly today announced a return to the middle ages with confirmation of Medieval 2: Total War. After a brief foray into Rome it's a little surprising to find The Creative Assembly returning to Medieval, although it gives them the chance to put everything into 3D at least.

In addition to 10,000 characters waging war on the battlefields, The Creative Assembly promise a fully redesigned multiplayer mode that offers a dynamic multi-battle campaign. The campaign finds players leading their armies across the battlefields of Europe and the Holy Land before discovering the Americas and doing battle with the Aztecs, with the promise of over 200 new units, greater depth in siege warfare, new weaponry and an improved building damage model.

"Medieval 2: Total War is the result of 7 years continuous development of the Total War series and has been designed to appeal to all gamers, not just hardcore strategy fans. " commented Mike Simpson, Studio Director at Creative Assembly. "Each game in the series has outshone the previous one and Medieval 2: Total War is no exception."

You need more historical accuracy. For example Belgrade one of the largest cities in Europe where dozens of bloody batles were fought throughout history doesn't even exist on the map

This is a good series of historical simulations.
There is, however, a need for historical accuracy.
Attention to the reality of logistics is also as important as the use of the military units themselves.

A Napoleonic: Total War is definately possible to make fun. In Rome, and Medieval II, the archers, and musketeers etc dont have infinite ammunition. So, They can fire so many shots, then charge. Also, sometimes the troops could be stronger at hand to... [ Read full comment... ]
