The SCi board takes the proposal off the table; Tomb Raider Underworld pushed to Christmas...


It's been well publicised in recent months that Eidos' parent company SCi Games has been looking for a takeover deal, but the company has today announced that it doesn't believe the full value will be reached - and that as a result, any potential deal is off.

Several potential interested parties had been unveiled, including Warner Bros. and Ubisoft, but the fact that SCi hadn't "received a formal offer within the timeframe requested" also contributed to this evening's news.

In addition to this, the publisher has also confirmed that Tomb Raider Underworld has been pushed back from a summer release to one in the run up to Christmas 2008. The move allows for three additional platforms (PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo DS) to be added to the line up already known. The upcoming title will now launch on six formats, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

The delay to Lara's newest adventure has also led to the board revealing it expects to make an operating loss at the end of the 2008 fiscal year, despite the upcoming launch of Conflict: Denied Ops.

Hope there will be more then ten levels that I've heard. If it does, AoD will still have the longest amount of levels and hopefully if Kurtis Trent returns, please be a cheat called 'Kurtis Storymode'

and an Easter Egg in Croft Manor(hole in staircase where the Triangle of Time Clock is in 1st TR Movie and her dad's tent outside in yard of Croft Manor! PLEASE!!!

Please also put jump switches without grapple, lots of keys,monkey swing move, continous shooting with duel pistols and all the other stuff that made the ps1 tomb raiders and AoD GREAT!!! PLEASE!!
