The publisher who revived Eidos in 2005 has been approached by an undisclosed company themselves...
SCi Games has released a statement to 'The City' confirming that it has been approached by a mystery company for a possible buy-out. The publisher is well known for its unlikely takeover of industry giants Eidos in 2005.
Here is SCi's statement to London's fat-cats:
"Following the recent speculation in the press, the Board of SCi Entertainment Group plc confirms that it has received an approach and as a result has entered into extremely preliminary discussions regarding a possible offer for the Company. No proposal has been received at this time, however, and there can be no certainty that any offer for the Company will be made or as to the terms of any such offer were one to be made."
Rumors abound regarding who the mystery money-spinners are that have approached SCi, with EA and Warner atop the list according to industry site MCV, citing an earlier report (now removed) from Thisismoney.co.uk.
