SCEE Goes LocoRoco News

Roll around hypnotic stages with SCEE's latest PSP release...

In the quest of becoming the all-singing, all-dancing, multi-media, Holy Grail that Sony have envisioned, gamers seeking high quality, original titles on the PSP have come in for a little disappointment in recent months, particularly given the increasing catalogue of DS hits.

One title that looks to buck this trend however was today announced for a European appearance courtesy of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). LocoRoco plunges players into its bright and vivid world, where LocoRoco's sing, roll and bounce their way through levels to reach their goals (sounds like a fantastic place - Ed). With their own happy language, hypnotic backgrounds and music, LocoRoco is described as "nothing you have ever seen before", which makes us like it even more.

Instantly accessible and with the simplicity of gameplay that makes Super Monkey Ball and Katamari Damacy so absolutely brilliant, LocoRoco uses the Left and Right shoulder buttons to rotate the ground up to 30 degrees in either direction. Players have to roll the LocoRoco's to the goal, avoiding splinters and enemies on the way, whilst growing in size by gobbling up fruit; the fatter the LocoRoco at the end, the more points you'' earn (It gets better and better - Ed).

If the LocoRoco swells up to be too big a press of a button splits him up into lots of small LocoRoco's, ideal for discovering hidden rooms and treats, whilst combining back into one big LocoRoco at the end to continue the journey.

LocoRoco is scheduled for a summer release; TVG will have more on the title soon...
