Sony teaming up with Channel 4 to bring the latest version to the million-selling Singstar series...
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) continues to breathe new life into its experimental projects, with the confirmation that SingStar Popworld is currently being put through the finishing touches ahead of its release in May 2005.
Teaming up with the Channel 4 programme of the same name, SingStar Popworld seems like a logical evolution for the brand, and will see an intro featuring Simon and Miquita along with extensive co-branding on the packaging and advertising.
The new addition to the million-selling franchise boasts 30 new tracks from artists such as Avril Lavigne, Jamelia, Keane, Robbie Williams and the Black Eyed Peas to name but a few.
Popular modes such as âPass the Micâ and âDuetsâ return, along with new features such as âRap Scoringâ â“ gaining extra points as you battle against your crew to see who the master of the mic is! In âMedleyâ mode short segments of five different songs are strung together, with players having to think fast and score high before the song changes.
In addition the game also promises brand new vocal filters to apply during playback, so no more chipmunk sounding warbles from the rest of us anymore.
