SCEE release new details and screens from the latest title in NAMCOs flight series...
Having briefly discovered the first details on Ace Combat 5 last week, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today officially announced a Q1 2005 European release for the title alongside some other details.
In keeping with the series tradition, Ace Combat 4 once again blends ultra-realistic and beautifully rendered in-game graphics, along with stunning weather effects and dynamic lighting.
The game is set in 2010, on a small island in the ocean that divides the global superpowers of Osea and Yuktobania. An unidentified aircraft has resulted in the 108th Tactical Fighter Squadron being scrambled to intercept it, however the entire squadron was ruthlessly decimated. As a fighter pilot in a newly formed squadron, you are called to protect the nation of Osea.
Ace Combat 5 features over 50 licensed planes for players to jump into the cockpit and take control of, whilst the numerous missions will see players diving down canyons, flying through mountain passes and bursting above the clouds to avoid missiles and hunt the enemy.
One of the many new features includes the ability to control wingmen, issuing in-flight instructions to carry out group attacks; whilst radio communication allows the player to listen in on secretive conversations.
