SCEA announces new information on the return of Ratchet & Clank + new screens...

When we came across the first screens from Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commado last week we were surprised to say the least. Thankfully SCEA have decided to public announce the game along with a selection of new screens and information from the game.

Picking up where the original game left off, Ratchet and Clank find themselves kidnapped and whisked away to a faroff galaxy called Bogon. Here the duo are offered a task by the rich and powerful Abercrombie Fizwidget, who runs a company named MegaCorp. One of the company's prototype designs has been stolen by a masked man, and so Fizwidget offers a large reward to retrieve the stolen item.

Unlike the recently announced Jak&Daxter2: Renegade, which has undertaken a surprising change in direction, Ratchet & Clank 2: Going Commado appears to stick closely to the foundations layed by the original; when the original game was that good, why not we say. The sequel will feature 20 new weapons for Ratchet to get his hands on, each of which can be upgraded and enhanced as the game progresses. The game will also feature an experience system, which grants you more life canisters as you defeat more and more enemies. Ratchet will have access to five different suits of armour in the game, each offering a selection of unique features crucial to his success.

We'll be taking a close look at E3, but until then make sure to check out this selection of new screens...
