SCEA announce a sequel to the hit music/rhythm title Frequency.
Although European gamers have yet to indulge in the delights of Frequency - a music rhythm game for the Playstation2 ā“ Sony Computer Entertainment of America today announced the development of a sequel.
Amplitude will follow closely to the design laid out in Frequency and will feature music from a number of different artists, including Weezer, David Bowie, Quarashi, Garbage and Logan 7; in total over 20 different tracks will feature in the final game.
However the biggest feature is the inclusion of online support to allow players to go head-to-head online. Online features will include a ranking system and a system to listen to remixes created by other players.
"We are thrilled to introduce Amplitude to rhythm action fans on the PlayStation 2," said Ami Blaire, director, product marketing, Sony Computer Entertainment America. "Playing Amplitude online offers new opportunities for gamers to join online communities and share their experiences with other gamers across the country. Providing a gorgeous gameplay atmosphere, the addictive gameplay will keep players entertained for hours and provide a whole new avenue for music artists to reach their fans."
Unfortunately itās looking unlikely that SCEE will publish Frequency in Europe, so the chances of seeing Amplitude in Europe are slim; weāll let you know when we find out anymore.
