Codemasters releases further details on the differences to be found in its forthcoming MMORPG...

With RF Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach (in Europe at least) up and running, Codemasters today confirmed the first specific details on its next MMORPG.

ArchLord promises to change the rules of MMO around quite a bit, with the premise of one player ruling the entire game world, for a month at least. Set in the mystical realms of Chantra and deep within the world's Middle-Ages, ArchLord challenges players to complete specific quests to gain knowledge surrounding the true history of Chantra and the holy Archons that reside within.

Three immense castles populate the lands of Chantra, each heavily fortified and protected from those who wish to enter. To challenge for control over the castle, players and their guilds must fight their way through a legion of enemies, protecting the sacred Archons.

Victory rewards the player with the Archon and an invite into the battle arena, where you'll be faced with other players to fight for control of all three Archons. Succeed in this and one final challenge lays before you, defeating the current monarch in a no-holds barred battle for online supremacy.

ArchLord features eight classes to choose from, including Human Archers, Knights, Mages, Orc Berserkers, Hunters, Shaman, Moon Eld Spiritualist and Elementalist.

Codemasters are gearing towards a Q3 2006 North American and European release, look out for further coverage across TVG soon.
