Rockstar Games confirm production of a UMD Movie focussing on the lowrider culture...


Rockstar Games today confirmed its debut into the world of filmmaking with the release of Sunday Driver on the UMD Movie format.

Sunday Driver is described as an âall-accessâ documentary film that chronicles the Compton/Watts chapter of Californiaâs low-rider car club, The Majestics. Following a community working together to build the ultimate customised vehicles while struggling to legitimise their lifestyle under the close scrutiny of the authorities, Sunday Driver takes a close look at the men behind the chrome, exposing the origins of the club and explaining what it means to be a Majestic.

"Films have always had a hand in influencing everything we create at Rockstar," said Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games. "Our goal was to create a film the same cutting edge, uncompromising cinematic content that we strive for in our games. We are extremely proud of Sunday Driver as an evolution of the Rockstar brand into film."

Early rumours suggest that a game tie-in could appear although this hasnât been officially confirmed by Rockstar, so hold onto the clutch before putting this one on the list just of yet.

Sunday Driver is set for release in the autumnâ¦
