EA reveals a street date for Rock Band on Wii, PS3 and PS2, giving the Xbox 360 version three months of exclusivity...

Following last week's announcement that Rock Band will be a timed exclusive release in Europe for the Xbox 360 this May 23rd, EA has now revealed that the PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 2 versions of the game won't be released until August 29th.

This news was buried at the bottom of an EA press release for the game, which has finally been confirmed for a European release after the title came out in the US 6 months ago.

The August 29th date for the Wii and Sony consoles effectively provides the Xbox 360 version of Rock Band with three months of timed exclusivity.

[UPDATE] Since we went to press with this article, EA has contacted us to say that the release date on this press release was a mistake and no date has yet been confirmed. An ammended press release lists a vague "Later this Summer" date for the three platforms.
