Shocking revelations from ECTS, however we've got some very nice screens to console you...
Reports today suggested that Resident Evil: Outbreak ā“ the PS2 online adventure game set in the classic Resident Evil universe ā“ may in fact not make it online, well in Europe at least.
Speaking to the assembled press during a presentation of the game at ECTS, lead producer Tsuyoshi Tanaka, claimed that he wasnāt sure whether it would be possible to release an online version in Europe. This comes after TVG has learnt that the code displayed at E3 was in fact running on a system I-link, instead of over the PS2 Network Adaptor, as many had believed.
Whilst we wouldnāt like to say which way this is going to swing, it is believed the problem stems from the network system in Europe which is completely different to that in Japan and America; if indeed this proves to be true, itās once again a smash in the teeth to European gamers.
Rest assured the guys at Capcom Europe are a great bunch of chaps and weāre sure they wonāt take this lying down, so itās not time to panic as of yet; letās just hope they can sort it out and give us the experience that the game deserves, after all itās arguably the only online PS2 title that can push the service into people homes - cāmon SCEE this game deserves a little respect.
