Capcom wants you to feel the cold and the blistering heat in its latest Resident Evil title...
Following on from the announcement of Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox360 and Playstation3, the titleās producer Jun Takeuchi has recently shared new details in an interview with Famitsu.
Describing the graphics engine behind the demonstration Takeuchi-san describes its ability to render extremely realistic facial animations with the input of varying muscle values, while the main characters stubble is composed of individual polygons and not a texture or visual effect ā“ Takeuchi-san however did stress that he was unsure whether this detail would make it into the final build or not.
The team are working hard to ensure a 60 fps frame-rate, which is twice that of Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube and should open up some exciting new gameplay possibilities. Takeuchi-san moves on to describe the importance of heat And cold within the game, suggesting that the HD-Era provides the means to clearly distinguish the visual difference between both and suggesting that a key element will be for players to sense the surrounding environment.
Finally Resident Evil 5 promises vast improvements in the area of real-time physics, with the gameās environment reacting strongly to the playerās actions.
