Capcom celebrates a significant North American milestone...
Capcom today celebrated Resident Evil 4 achievement of shifting more than 500,000 copies throughout North America since its release on January 11th 2005. Despite not matching the success of earlier Resident Evil titles on the Playstation, NPD Group data suiggests that combined sales of Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil 1 and Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube have now passed 1.5 million sales throughout North America and Canada.
âWith Resident Evil 4, the series and the entire survival horror genre have been advanced to a whole new level,â said Todd Thorson, director of marketing, Capcom Entertainment. âItâs been rewarding to see that the incredible response the game has received from fans and critics has been mirrored by a phenomenal retail performance.â
Whether or not Capcom will be as forthcoming regarding European sales remains doubtful, where the GameCubeâs concerning plight has severely affected the chances of a titleâs success.
