Resident Evil 0 begins in the suburbs of Raccoon City, a small town located in the Midwest. Several reported incidences of people being eaten by a strange creature have surfaced. The police department viewed the terrible murders as a top priority and quickly sends in the S.T.A.R.S Bravo team. As the team heads to the scene of the murders, their helicopter begins to have mechanical problems, eventually crashing deep into the forest surrounding Raccoon City.

Resident Evil fans prepare yourselves for 31 new screens plus more information about the next game in the series.

Capcom today released 31 new screens from the development build of Resident Evil 0 on the Nintendo GameCube.

Resident Evil 0 is set before the first ever game and focuses on the Bravo team member Rebecca Chambers. Travelling on a high-speed train on her way to the Mansion featured in the first game, things start to go wrong. The train is attached and is attacked by hordes of flesh eating zombies and other undead creatures. Rebecca the First Aid master has to use her speed and agility to overcome the monsters in a fight to survive.

However she isnât the only one on the train that isn't yet a Zombie. With her is an all-new character to the Resident Evil series he goes by the name of Billy Coen. Billy is a 23-year-old former Marines second lieutenant who receives capital punishment for a crime. To receive his punishment he is sent to Umbrella's base on the same train that Rebecca is on. Taking advantage of the unguarded moment he escapes.

For the first time in the Resident Evil franchise you can switch in real-time between characters, so if Rebecca is being attacked by a group of Zombies you can switch to Billy to help her out. Capcom have promised that this game will focus more on the action rather than constant puzzle solving.
