Republic - New Screens News

The revolution starts here (phew we nearly forgot about this one)...
Having been in development for the last three years and the idea of Demis Hassabis â“ the brains behind Theme Park at the tender age of 16 â“ Republic certainly has a lot resting on its shoulders.
The game places players in the role of a faction leader, who must oust the President by any means necessary and take control over the Republic of Novistrana. Elixir Studios houses some of the best talent in AI, which should lead to Republic being one of the best examples of computer controlled characters in a videogame, as you compete against three other factions and can employ virtually any tactic to ensure your power, from blackmailing to brainwashing!
A lot was made of the incredible infinite polygon engine (Totality) powering the visuals in Republic; itâs claimed that players will be able to view the city from afar or zoom into the petal of a flower! From what weâve seen the game looks solid and impressive, however the years in development have seen visuals steadily increase and Republic seems to lack the special effects that weâre used to seeing on our GeForce 4 these days.
Weâre assured that the release of Republic is drawing ever near, however weâve heard that one before; weâll try to press Eidos for a specific date, but until then make sure to check out the new selection of screens from Republic: The Revolution.
Weâll have a lot more on Republic: The Revolution very soonâ¦
